First Contact team members are on location bright and early to greet family members arriving at the Huntsville Unit in Huntsville, Texas. The day of a loved one’s release can be a joyful yet stressful time. First Contact Family Ministry has a devoted team with hearts to calm, comfort, and show God’s true and unconditional love.
First Contact Family Ministry team members are TDCJ certified volunteers and work closely with TDCJ reentry case workers. Upon check in, a note of the family member or friend being picked up will be taken at the desk of the Huntsville unit family waiting building. Located across the street from the unit information packets as well as helpful reentry tips will be given by RJMN team members. Questions can be answered, prayers can be given, all to help in the long-awaited process of release day.
